The year 2024 marks the beginning of a new chapter for the Musicarium Academia Filarmônica Brasileira. As a hub that fosters social transformation through music education, we achieved a high level of student excellence and international recognition, resulting in invitations for performances in Switzerland, Germany, and the Netherlands, the Musicarium is embarking on its first international tour.

With an innovative and humanistic pedagogical program focused on citizenship and excellence, and with teachers from Brazil and abroad, the Musicarium has established itself as a center for orchestra training. In less than six years, it developed a Youth Orchestra and chamber groups from children and young people with no prior musical experience, mostly from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds.

Formed by the most advanced students, these groups develop leaders and strengthens the foundation of the Youth Orchestra. By investing in improvements with excellent teachers and instruments, the chamber groups expand the options for artistic presentations. The high level of acomplishment and recognition achieved by European teachers led the String Camerata and Percussion Ensemble to be invited for performances in Switzerland, Germany, and the Netherlands during Musicarium’s first international tour in 2024.

The upcoming concert series will feature a diverse repertoire showcasing works by renowned composers such as Tchaikovsky, Villa-Lobos, and other prominent figures in Brazilian and world music. The performances will take place in Switzerland (La Chaux-de-Fonds, Genève and Bern), Germany (Karlsruhe), and the Netherlands (Amsterdam).

In addition to the concerts, there will be a masterclass on Brazilian percussion, taught by our young musicians, will be offered to the students of the Conservatoire de Musique Neuchâtelois in La Chaux-de-Fonds. This will be an extraordinary opportunity for personal and artistic growth, having a fantastic impact on the development of Musicarium's students.
